Kara Halfaker is the owner of No Fear Finances LLC. She is a graduate of the University of Florida (BS in Accounting) and the University of Alabama at Birmingham (MS in Accounting). Kara is also an Accredited Financial Counselor (AFC).
Prior to starting No Fear Finances, Kara served as a program officer for a community development financial institution (CDFI) serving minority and women owned businesses. She also previously taught in Birmingham City Schools and was an accountant for a Big Four accounting firm.
Through her experiences in the CDFI, accounting, and education spaces, Kara noticed a gap in business & personal finance technical assistance for minority and women owned businesses & individuals.
Kara strives to increase access to capital and to close the racial wealth gap through in-depth technical assistance training focused on financial analysis and personal finance, and providing small business accounting services.
Kara believes that knowledge is power, and by not only teaching about financial topics, but by also providing hands on resources and individualized support, minority and women owned business owners will be empowered to make decisions based on the numbers and not their feelings.
